Rebuilding Ukraine starts with people, not buildings
Even if the war ended today, 1.8M veterans and 15M civilians would still need urgent psychological help

A Humanitarian Initiative to
Strengthen Ukraine’s Human Capital

Target groups
Primary target groups:
- Veterans
- Emergency response personnel
- Paramedics
- Prisoners of war
Secondary target groups:
- Families and relatives of the primary target group
- Specialists working with veterans
- Danish and European healthcare institutions and research centers
- International communities
Foundation
Founded by Ukrainians who have lived in Denmark for more than 18 years.
The project aligns directly with EU strategic priorities:
- support to Ukraine’s resilience
- humanitarian assistance
- long-term recovery
- mental health
- social cohesion
- and European security
It is thought of as a cross-border effort reflecting the EU’s core values – solidarity, human dignity, and shared responsibility
Partnership and funding
With your support, we can heal the invisible wounds of war and honor those who risked
everything to defend freedom
We already work in close collaboration with Dansk Rehabilitering – a specialized Danish center that supports veterans, emergency responders, and others experiencing PTSD, burnout, anxiety, or depression.
And aim to cooperate with:
- Danish authorities and institutions: the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Health, municipalities, hospitals, and addiction treatment centers
- Ukrainian partners: the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Health, leading rehabilitation centers, the Olena Zelenska Foundation, and military brigades
- EU institutions
We seek funding from:
- Danish public and private sources: government programs, foundations, companies, and
- Individual donors, relevant EU funding programs
Background and need
The psychological impact of Russia’s full-scale invasion on Ukrainians is unprecedented in modern European history
Ordinary civilians...
- teachers,
- journalists
- engineers
- doctors
- bakers
...were mobilized overnight.
Those who return from the front often face severe psychological trauma. The consequences extend far beyond individual suffering.
- PTSD
- depression
- anxiety
- and grief...
...affect not only veterans but also their families and communities, threatening the very social fabric of Ukraine. Untreated trauma leads to chronic mental illness, as well as addiction, social breakdown, violence, and suicide.
Ukraine cannot be rebuilt if a large part of its population is traumatized. By helping veterans today, we not only protect human dignity but also ensure long-term stability across the European continent.
Therefore, this project is a high-impact opportunity to turn urgent aid into lasting European resilience.
